A cinquain is a five-line poem. It has two syllables in the first line, four syllables in the second line, six syllables in the third line, eight syllables in the fourth line, and two syllables in the final line. Here are some I wrote this year.
Practice
Hard work, but fun
Make sure you do your best
If you work hard at practices…
You’ll win
Light bulb
New idea
Plan forming in your mind
Work hard and it will come to life
Genius
Cupcakes
Soft and fluffy
They take you off your feet
Up onto a cloud of frosting
Superb
Fruity
Very juicy
A surge of excitement
Shoots right through me as I taste it
Pure bliss
Reading
What happens next
I cannot put it down
Tragedy happiness equals
