The Moon’s Travels, a parallel poem to The Sun’s Travels

The Moon is not asleep when I,
Open up my sleepy eyes
He travels the Earth again, and again
And night after night I see my friend

While here at home in the mystical night,
We’re snuggled up with our eyes closed tight
Each little German wakes as one
And looks forward to a day of fun

And when I get up out of bed
I know somewhere in the back of my head
That all the children in the East
Are finishing up their evening feasts
