My Mom’s friend is holding a dog for “foster care”. They are trying to find him a forever home. His name is Drake. He is a Chow-Chow and German Shepherd mix. He has beautiful, short red fur. He also has big brown eyes and is so darn cute you’d just about die if you saw him. My Mom was willing to let us adopt him, which was really exciting for me and my brother. The only problem was another family was interested as well. They met him on Sunday, but we had plans to meet him today(Thursday). I got off the bus and immediately knew we weren’t going. My Mom told me and Alex the other family had already started filling out the paperwork, which meant we most likely wouldn’t get Drake. There is still a chance, but it’s very slim.
I know this is a lesson that taught me we’ll find a new dog, and maybe it wasn’t meant to be. But I wanted Drake. I want Drake. And in my heart, though I know he can’t be mine, I won’t believe it until it happens.

Oh sweet girl. I am sorry that we probably won’t be adding him to our home.
Drake is adorable, and I’m sorry if you don’t get him. I hope you find another dog soon.
