Light, fluffy flakes
Not
Dangerous.
The ground is gone
Fields of white
Below.
Mounds of white snow
Ah.
AHHHH!
Mounds of white snow!
Below
Fields of white?
The ground is gone.
Dangerous!
Not
Light, fluffy, flakes

Another falling…
Into the mouth
Of a hungry squirrel.
The bushy tail
Spikes up.
The acorn
Round, and
Brown…
The acorn is
Gone.
Gone!
The acorn is
Brown,
Round and
The acorn
Spikes up
The bushy tail
Of a hungry squirrel.
Into the mouth
Another falling…!
Losing? My fault?
Ten seconds
Man-to-man
I lost my man…
Shoot,
A three-pointer…
Swish!
Swish.
A three-pointer?
Shoot!
I lost my man.
Man-to-man
Ten seconds
Losing; my fault.
As some of you may have noticed, I have gotten out of the habit of posting Book of the Week. I think one way to help me get back into this category is to change it up a bit. Instead of choosing an exceptional children’s book each week, I will describe the book I am reading that particular week. This week, for example, I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Feel free to comment thoughts about each book (no spoilers, please!) and of course, reading recommendations.
Floating through the air
Swirling between the strands of grass
The naked eye cannot see
My golden yellow glow
I come from the grass and the trees
I am transferred via bees
I am small and yellow too,
And I make you say, “Achoo!”
What Am I?
Tower over everything
Join hands with the sky
Look up to the sun
Kiss the clouds
Hug the wind
Stumble over the rivers
Mountain.
Happy Fourth of July everyone! Do you know what this holiday is really about? America. But do you know what America is really about? It’s not about speaking English and playing baseball. America is about diversity. People of different cultures, religions, and genders coming together to represent their country. It doesn’t matter what language we speak, what color skin we have. It matters who we are, on the inside. I’m proud to be an American, inside and out.
The definition of perfect is a three letter word. This word is a synonym to special, unique, and original. This word is just as perfect as the person in describes.
This word is YOU.
My stomach is filled with butterflies.
My hands are shaking in fear.
Slowly, I click on the button
Knowing the answer is near.
I hold my breath
And stare at my score.
There is the answer.
I have to wait no more.
It is not perfect.
I want to cry,
But that’s when I ask myself . . .
Why?
It’s not a 100,
But an A nevertheless.
I worked hard,
And I did my best
The Earth will keep turning.
There’s no need to fear . . .
I’m still going to cry.
Just not now, not here.
