How much you work
How long you work
How hard you work
Who you work for
What you work for
What you work toward
If you’re doing something
You love,
Keep doing it.
If you’re doing something
You don’t love,
Find something that you do.
The wind has melted to a soft breeze
Tiny buds pop out on trees
The temperatures are nice and high
Big white clouds, fill the sky
Spring is here
Or so it seems…
But for now, sweet dreams
Spring is already
Almost done,
Here comes summer, here comes fun!
Each and every person on this planet
Is different than the next
Inside and out
We are unique and special
In our own way
Like snowflakes,
No two are exactly the same.
Put a few snowflakes together
And you have a family
No matter how many members
No matter their gender
Each family is special
And perfect.
Now, take all the families
All the snowflakes in the world
And put them together…
You get a blizzard
And a beautiful one, too.
Dreams are like leaves
They wait patiently
Only to fall when winter comes
To be blown away
With the winds of change
But if you catch one
And hold on tight
That dream might just survive
That dream may not crumble.
The early morning
Is silent and still
The sun still sleeping soundly
Along with the rest of the nation
The sky is a musty gray
And the bitter cold is biting
At the trees
The day is like a dusty book
Sitting silently, untouched
By the breath of life.
The early evening
Is bustling with lights
Of all different colors
All sorts of sounds
All sorts of people
The sky is pink and orange
As the cold wind
Meets the warm sun
As it sets on the horizon
After a long day.
The best feeling in the world
Is making someone laugh
No matter how sad or angry
You are,
No matter how envious or upset
They are,
You are able to share
That one moment
Of pure happiness
Where all is right
With the world.
The court
Is a battlefield
A raging war
Between two teams
Determined
To emerge victorious.
We fight like
Soldiers
Defending our
Territory.
The beautiful
Simplicity
Of fighting
For a cause you find
Worthwhile.
People roaming everywhere
The scent of turkey in the air
Beers and soda for everyone
Chatting with family is tons of fun
It’s getting late so now let’s eat
Our wonderfully wild Thanksgiving feast
The blue sky above us
The blue water below
Cruising along
In this cozy little boat
I dip my feet in
The cold ocean blue
I sigh with relief
And let out a “Phew!”
The wind blows hard
And my cheeks burn pink
This is the best thing ever
I think
Then we dock
And the boat slows down
And soon we’re back
On the ground
We head inside
And I take a glance back
Oh what it would be
To have a boat like that.
Gliding over the clouds
Staring down at the city,
Entranced
The lights twinkle brightly
The cars like tiny ants
Minuscule
The beauty of it takes my breath away
And in my own way,
My own little amusement park
Because I’m
Soaring over California.
