Toe tapping
Mind racing
Nail biting
Time ticking
Heart pounding
Head throbbing
Just two days
Until this anticipation
Fades away

Beautiful Strangeness
The moon swam
Through a sea of stars
Glistening in the night
The trees bathed
In the light of the sun
And its sparkling rays
The clouds dropped
Onto the skyscrapers down below
Dreary, foggy, and damp
The snow burnt
Into a puff of air
When it escaped the shadows and saw sunlight
The world is a beautiful and strange place
Look closely to see the beauty
Look closer to see the strange.
My heart pulses
My stomach races
My brain is set alight with questions.
My palms are sweaty
My face is glowing
I’m on the edge of my seat…
Not now.
Not yet.
But I know it will come.
Someday.
The wind blows through the
Trees
The flowers start to
Droop
The boy looks very
Lonely
The sky is turning
Black
The sun sets on a purple
Sky
The women have had their hearts broken
The men have done the
Breaking
The ball slams into the
Glove
The bowl crashes to the
Floor
I want to know, not just
Guess
I want to listen, not just
Hear
I want not to look…
But to see.
Happy Birthday Grammy.
There are lots of things
In this world that are true
And one of them, Grammy,
Is that I love you.
Some truths include
That fire is hot
That the ocean is blue
And a point is a dot
Another truth
With truths and such
Is that your 7 grandkids
Love you very much!
Some more truths consist of
That you are a hugger
You’re caring and kind
And an awesome grandmother!
Happy Birthday Grammy.
Camp Grandpa Anthem
Down in Albuquerque
Hanging out with my grandfather
Three kids so rambunctious
Why does he even bother?
Two girls and a boy who always
like to play
And Grandpa has to take care of them
All day
But there are two camp counselors
Donna and Emily
And with their wisdom
May-ay-be
We’ll make it through the week
No one will fall apart
With happiness, fun, and lots of
Heart!
Weekly Update
I haven’t posted in a while
And that makes me feel bad
So I thought I’d tell you
About the past few weeks I’ve had
My Grandpa is here from
Across the U.S.A
And I had a great swim meet
This past Saturday
I’ve done well in basketball
We seem to be winning
Which is great ’cause we’ve been
Losing since the beginning
My mom is in another state
And I miss her so
I can’t wait for Saturday
When she is coming home!
Family Haikus
My cousin is near
She is oh so very dear
She is almost here.
My family will come
To my hometown very soon
And I cannot wait.
Sammy is coming
He is a little cutie
Sam, and Nora too!
Aunt Veronica
Her daughter Sofie and her
Husband Kenny too!
Rossmans are coming
I cannot wait to see them
Only 3 more days!
Snapshot of a memory
Photo of the past
Picture of the future
Image of my laugh
My smile
My style
My hair
My lair
My home
My town
My city
And I’m proud
Of my scrapbook.
Summer: Not So Hot
Sunshine glimmer and shine
Burns this pale face of mine
Rich, green grass
Makes me itchy really fast
White, fluffy clouds
Jet engines are so loud!
Summer is so nice
Now, fill my drink with ice!
