Torn Over TV

So torn
What to do?
At eight o’clock
There are two
Gravity Falls
The series finale
So important
But then there’s the Grammy’s!
Mabel vs. Taylor
Bill vs. Hamilton
Dipper vs. Adele
Which do I watch live?
Which to I watch first?

So many shows
So little time.

We

We are all one species

We all share one home

Why is no one thinking,

“Gosh, we have it wrong.”

We are all one unit

We all share this space

None of it should matter

Gender, religion, race.

My Time at Time Inc.

The buildings make me feel small

But I’ve never felt so important

In the strong, beautiful office

Looking out on the river

I’m with people who love to write

As much as I.

The “Snow” Day

Beautiful blue skies

Strong green grass

Soft winter breeze

Bright warm sun

Oh the horrors upon us

This snow day

My Kind of Holiday

Now that winter break has begun
I’m ready for some holiday fun
Christmas cookies at Grammy’s house
Christmas morning quiet as a mouse
Dozens of presents stacked under the tree
Some are from me and some are for me!
Family is happy, smiles are glowing.
Lights are shining and stomachs are growing.
Fun, food, family, love.
This is what the holiday is made of.

An Early Start On Cheer

I may not have a wreath
Hanging upon my door
Or a tree with colored lights
Or a Hanukkah Menora
I may not have many decorations
Outside of my home
But inside it’s a party
With spirit to and fro
I am bursting with anticipation
Ready for Christmas day
I know it’s early, but nevertheless
Happy Holidays!

Rain, Rain

Pitter patter.
Rain on the glass.
Droplets on the pane.
Leaves weighed down.
Wet, wet, wet.
It’s a wet world.
Rain, rain,
Go away.
Come again
Another day.
Pitter patter
Wet.

Happy Halloween!

1 o’clock
Thunder rolls
2 o’clock
Doors creak
3 o’clock
All is dark
4 o’clock
Lightning cracks
5 o’clock
Blood drips
6 o’clock
Chains rattle
7 o’clock
Ghosts moan
8 o’clock
Lights flicker
9 o’clock
Wind whips
10 o’clock
Branches snap
11 o’clock
Monsters creep
Midnight
They are watching.
Boo.

Rabbit Hole

Down I go.
Down the rabbit hole.
Lost and confused
In a convoluted maze
Of passion, emotion, and fear.
Where am I?
I’m here!
In these dank tunnels.
Scary and sad,
Exciting and bright.
Yet not quite,
Because the rabbit hole
Is very dark.
I’m alone.
Down I go.

Falling Into Winter

Winter is around the corner,

Her cold air breathing down my back

But it is still fall.

It is time for apples, cocoa, jeans, scarves, plaid, red and yellow leaves, orange sunsets, creamy donuts and pastries.

It is still fall.

Just barely.
