Remember

Remember their families.
Remember their words.
Remember their likes.
Remember their dislikes.
Remember their jobs.
Remember their cars.
Remember their bravery.
Remember their sacrifice.

Remember the lives they led, the people they met, and the things they did.

Remember 9/11. And remember to keep moving forward.

Happy Birthday Grammy.

There are lots of things
In this world that are true
And one of them, Grammy,
Is that I love you.
Some truths include
That fire is hot
That the ocean is blue
And a point is a dot
Another truth
With truths and such
Is that your 7 grandkids
Love you very much!
Some more truths consist of
That you are a hugger
You’re caring and kind
And an awesome grandmother!

Happy Birthday Grammy.

What Am I?

Floating through the air
Swirling between the strands of grass
The naked eye cannot see
My golden yellow glow

I come from the grass and the trees
I am transferred via bees
I am small and yellow too,
And I make you say, “Achoo!”

What Am I?

What Am I?

Gliding smoothly across the surface
Cutting gracefully through the teal waters
Stretching my wings far and wide
Whipping my mystical tail

I have wings but I do not fly
I see through minuscule eyes
I have a long tail, unlike you
I live in a habitat clear and blue.

What Am I?

Home

The past week of my life has been so much fun, it’s hard to put it into words. Every minute of every day, I’ve seen and done things I would never see or do back home. And that’s fantastic. But now, at the end of the week, I have to say I’m excited to go home. I’m excited to see my Daddy. And my doggy. I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed, eat in my own kitchen, and shower in my own bathroom. I had lot of fun this week with my relatives, but I must admit, I’m anxious to return home.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is an exceptional book about the hardships of love and disease. This book is about a girl with lungs that suck at being lungs, and a boy with one leg. Together they go through ups and downs and find love along the way. This is one of the best books I have ever read, and I recommend it for middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Camp Grandpa Anthem

Down in Albuquerque
Hanging out with my grandfather
Three kids so rambunctious
Why does he even bother?
Two girls and a boy who always
like to play
And Grandpa has to take care of them
All day
But there are two camp counselors
Donna and Emily
And with their wisdom
May-ay-be
We’ll make it through the week
No one will fall apart
With happiness, fun, and lots of
Heart!

Mountain

Tower over everything
Join hands with the sky
Look up to the sun
Kiss the clouds
Hug the wind
Stumble over the rivers
Mountain.

Mini Mystics

I just saw the Washington Mystics play the Atlanta Dreams, a WNBA showdown. My team and I got to sit on the Mystics bench as the professionals warmed up. We made posters to cheer on the Mystics, got free Adidas t-shirts, and appeared on the jumbo screen three or four times. Some of our players even got to go on the court and do a “skills drill” during halftime. Plus, the Mystics won! It will be a night to remember for me and my team.

Weekly Update

I haven’t posted in a while
And that makes me feel bad
So I thought I’d tell you
About the past few weeks I’ve had
My Grandpa is here from
Across the U.S.A
And I had a great swim meet
This past Saturday
I’ve done well in basketball
We seem to be winning
Which is great ’cause we’ve been
Losing since the beginning
My mom is in another state
And I miss her so
I can’t wait for Saturday
When she is coming home!
